ITC is looking for specialists to help with the implementation of its mandate, as well as specialists in general management or operational support.
For staff positions in ITC, you will be recruited as an international civil servant. You must be under 65 years of age.
Depending on your role, you may be responsible for the management of specific projects from their conception to completion, ensuring quality results and the effective use of resources.
Managers play a role in recruiting, motivating and developing others, encouraging them to broaden their skills and experience whilst rising to daily challenges.
Travel may be required for a variety of reasons including to collect information, to work with trade support institutions, small and medium-sized companies and policy makers from all over the world and to ensure the effective delivery of ITC’s work to a broad range of countries. The amount of travel can vary depending on the area of work and your role.
Minimum requirements
Different functional profiles and jobs have their specific requirements. However, all qualified candidates interested in employment in the professional and higher categories will need to have the following minimum qualifications:
- An advanced university degree in the relevant field (a first level degree with additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree).
- Required years of working experience in the relevant functional area as indicated in the specific job openings.
- Normally, the language requirements are advanced knowledge of English (speaking, reading and writing) with a working knowledge (minimum intermediate speaking, reading and writing) of French or Spanish. Knowledge of other UN official languages (Arabic, Russian or Chinese) may be exceptionally required.
