The Republic of Kiribati is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean. It is classified as a Least Developed Country (LDC) and a Small Island Developing State (SIDS). Kiribati’s top exported products are coconut oil and fish. Major export destinations are Taipei, Hong Kong (China), Australia, Morocco and Vietnam. Oil, rice, vehicles and machinery are main import items of Kiribati and major import partners are Australia, Japan, Singapore, Fiji and New Zealand. It is a member of The South Pacific Regional Trade and Economic Cooperation Agreement (SPARTECA).
