Vanuatu is located in Melanesia, a group of islands in the South Pacific Ocean, east of Northern Australia, northeast of New Caledonia, west of Fiji, and southeast of the Solomon Islands. It is classified as a Least Developed Country (LDC) & a Small Island Developing State (SIDS). Main exports are fish, cocoa, medicinal plants and the Philippines, New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia are major export destinations. Major imports are ship, boat and other floating structures, fuel, machinery and vehicle mainly imported from Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Fiji and China. It is a member of Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG), the Pacific Island Countries Trade Agreement (PICTA), the South Pacific Regional Trade and Economic Cooperation Agreement (SPARTECA), and the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
