The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD), also known as Rio+20, took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 20-22 June 2012 – twenty years after the historic 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, which was held in the same city.
ITC’s role was to highlight the importance of trade in promoting sustainable development. This was achieved through a number of side events and discussions where ITC shared its experience from the field in delivering trade-related technical assistance, highlighting key successes in delivering export impact for good.
