      The African Trade Observatory (ATO)

      The African Trade Observatory (ATO) was launched to support the operationalization of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The ATO drove the development of the ATO dashboard, the related data transfer system, the technical unit, and the tariff negotiation tool. As of December 2019, 13 countries have requested to participate in the pilot phase of the project.

      ITC’s programme on NTMs aims at increasing transparency and helping countries better understand obstacles to trade faced by the business community. The program conducts a large scales survey of enterprises and maintains a depository of trade related regulations that are disseminated through Market Access Map.

      Supporting India’s Trade Preferences for Africa (SITA)

      SITA aims at increasing value of business transactions between India and the selected East African countries (Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and the United Republic of Tanzania) to be achieved by enabling East Africa’s access to India’s market and facilitating investment and transfer of Indian knowledge, expertise and technology to the project beneficiary countries.
