The ITC SME Competitiveness Surveys, designed to assess the strengths and weaknesses of enterprises and their business ecosystem, can assist government, business support organizations and investors in their journey to becoming stewards of sustainability.
Competitive small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are at the heart of any successful sustainable development plan, and yet often policymakers lack the data to understand what constraints SMEs face and what opportunities are available to boost their contribution. ITC local business intelligence data fill this gap.More than 13,000 companies in over 38 countries have been surveyed to date using the SME Competitiveness Survey. This tool builds on more than 50 years of on-the-ground experience helping SMEs enter global markets.
The survey generates empirical evidence on the strengths and weaknesses of SMEs, shedding light on opportunities to improve their competitiveness so they can increase sales at home and abroad. This information is useful to governments, business support organizations, SMEs and investors.
